PUTTALAM COAL POWER PLANT
BIGGEST POWER PROJECT IN SRI LANKA

Hailed as one of the largest infrastructure projects undertaken in Sri Lanka, the project aimed to add 900 MW of generation capacity to the National Grid through a coal power plant established at Puttalam, on the western coast of Sri Lanka.

Delivered over 1000 sea freight shipments carrying 5000 FEUs of containers, 200 air cargo shipments, 60 Bulk shipments of over 600000 tons each with 15 deliveries of over-dimension cargo by barge. Provided ship’s agency services for over 15 vessels carrying bulk shipments. The project used a repertoire of capabilities and skills in ship agency, tug & barge chartering, providing technical support, mobilizing people and assets, and harnessing good will for overcoming regulatory hurdles.
